Kax getting birth to her first litter, and Ace is it's father.  They are born on his birthday.

That means...Krokasmedens D- and F-litter are born the same day as our first litter. What a familietree... tre litters at the same day but in different years...you can talk about a familie birthday

And Morgan from KrokasmedensF-litter lives with us so she is sister to this litters father and becomes the aunt.

I come back with how many and kind when it's finished, and I got some sleep...

The day of birth approaching... Kax resting more, but if we going out... she will be with us, in a different tempo but not completly still eigher. 
We just waiting for the puppies to come. 

Kax is really proud of her belly and protecting it from Vittras small alligator teeth.
She also take the turn past our compote to see if anything good dropped out.

Ready and Vittra have found each other, having fun on the blanket. There are not much more in Vittras life so far. Sleep, eat, go out an then play aruond, indoors or outdoors.

Ready had become puppy again.. 

Readys sister Myrkky are x-rayed clear on both hips and shoulders she is also eye-checked clear. Congratulations 

What is hidden in the snow... comes up in thaw... Why wait so long...?!?

I do not know everything that Morgan and Ready had found in our garden. From all kinds of poo-poo from wild animals to a tin for spieces made of glass... We have no idea how that tin turned up in our garden... becuse we do not use that kind of spice ourself. 

 On January 31th it was time to say - Godbye. Both Charmie (mother to Vittra) and Atlas (father to Vittra) made it properly.

We got a long tripp in front of us. Our first stop were at Höga Kusten bron (The bridge of High Coast) and Vittra got permission to come in with us and were served liver paste in small pieces.

The pictures was taken the 2nd of February, so I'm a little bit late putting it in.

The same day we feelt movements in her stomach, and that continues... wounderful feeling. On the 3rd of February there was a few drops of milk from one of her teats. 

We can also see how the belly drops down more and more.

Kax going on growing, still playing around with the other girls. But she choose to run around in the shoveled paths we done instead of jumping in the deep snow more then neceserly.

In the autumn we were optimists... We forget to take care of the garden furniture before the first snow came in december. We didn't think it would stay for long... but today... we still got a lot of snow.

It was probebly my last moose hunt for this season yesterday... even if we are allowed to hunt to the end of February.
With a pregnant dog in the 6th week, it's time to stay at home. Although I begann to wounder... is it really the 6th week of her pregnancy...
Anyway, there is no good alternative to bring her to the huntingground anymore, even if she's not used for the hunting those days. She's better home, taking a walk and play around on her own condition.

Today I had to control the date for the upcoming birth... I have not miscalculated... Birth should be around 13/2-2010. Kax body is changing and pounds begin to show up. Clearly - Kax is taken back the days of smaller appetite...

The master of this house has already announced he's guess and divide of males/females in the upcomming litter. Oh no, I will not tell you... You may be curious about it!?! 

The count down of several things had begun.
around 20 days to the litter will be here
11 days to... yes, there were something that we will do then...!?!
7 days to we got our Fauve - Lucky Quarter here at home... What she will be called... Who knows?!?
1-7 days - this week... we will make the whelping bos.

Kax fills up her belly...

The picture was taken on 13th ofJanuary so it may not be so easy to see, but we do see her body is changing... and she have also calmed down a little, she is not playing around in the same way as she use to. Her weight is still the same, but it's now, in the 5th-6th week it would change for beginning... The exciting weeks beginns.

 Åbackens Lucky Quarter is groving...

The little "striped Dachshund", "newcomer" or "short legged thing" now are six weeks. Time is flying, the litter starts to look like "small adults" dogs. In two weeks we will pick her up... the adorable little "thing"

Peek-A-Boo

Quter having fun with Håkan playing peek-a-boo in the whelpingbox. Her new master (Håkan) would love to be the photographer... but his not...

But in three weeks they will be able to play peek-a-boo as much as they want.  

New pictures from our 2nd walk on Bråviken in -17 degrees...

And you see the pregnent Kax (we hope) You cant tell yet by the picture, but she shows a lot of signs and symptoms. It is the fourth week after mating that coming now.

This year we got ice on Bråviken and with the sun shining it's a wounderful walk.

Today I updated the album with pictures from our walk at Bråviken and an other album from 091225 when we visited Santas place here in Kolmården.
